Welcome

The Alger County Firefighter's Association is an organization comprised of the 8 fire departments located across the county.  It provides a professional forum for interdepartmental communication to:

  • build department relations through increased familiarity

  • coordinate county-wide communications & mutual aid

  • provide experiential training opportunities, and 

  • plan and train for potential challenges and hazards in the area.

Location

Alger County is located in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, along the southern shore of Lake Superior.  The population is 9,383 (2015 estimate).  It is made up of 8 townships (divisions of local government) and the county seat is the city of Munising.  The county-level emergency services agency is the Alger County Sheriff's Department.

Meeting Schedule:

3rd Monday of each even month

6:30 PM meal / 7:00 PM meeting

 

Location varies as county departments take turns hosting the meeting.
